Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI)
- Satisfy requirements to teach qualifying courses outlined on the Texas REALTORS® Instructor Application
- Attain GRI Designation
- Audit GRI courses: GRI Business Skills, GRI Contracts to Closing, GRI Real Estate Brokerage. Must audit four (4) GRI topics within 12 months of application date. Provide date and location of audits
- Complete Instructor Training Institute
- Have successfully taught at least eighteen hours of non-GRI courses through the Texas REALTORS® provider and received a minimum instructor rating of 4.0 in each course. Taught a minimum of five hours in one day as part of the eighteen-hour total
- Give a mock presentation on substantive GRI topic for designated Texas REALTORS® committee members
- Interview with designated Texas REALTORS® committee members

REALTOR® Launch
- Satisfy requirements to teach qualifying courses outlined on the Texas REALTORS® Instructor Application
- Complete Instructor Training Institute

Texas Accredited Commercial Specialist (TACS)
- Satisfy requirements to teach qualifying courses outlined on the Texas REALTORS® Instructor Application
- Meet at least one of the following criteria: Be a CCIM approved instructor, be a CCIM designee with five years of active experience as a licensed commercial practitioner, or have seven years of active experience as a licensed commercial practitioner.
- Attain TACS certification
- Have successfully taught at least three courses, totaling a minimum of nine hours of instruction through the Texas REALTORS® provider, and received a minimum instructor rating of 4.0 in each course
- Complete Instructor Training Institute
- Give a mock presentation for designated Texas REALTORS® committee members
- Interview with designated Texas REALTORS® committee members

Legal Update I & II
- Satisfy requirements to teach qualifying courses outlined on the Texas REALTORS® Instructor Application
- Submit letter from TREC indicating successful completion of the Legal Update I & II instructor training program

Broker Responsibility
- Satisfy requirements to teach qualifying courses outlined on the Texas REALTORS® Instructor Application
- Submit letter from TREC indicating successful completion of the Broker Responsibility instructor training program

Code of Ethics
- Identify as or have at least one of the following:
- Local or state association staff
- Professional Standards training instructor
- GRI instructor who is also an active Texas REALTOR®
- Have served in a Texas REALTORS® Professional Development Management Team (PDMT) or a Texas REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee leadership role
- REALTOR® Emeritus
- Endorsement from a local Association Executive or Education Director
- Audit the NAR Code of Ethics course
- Identify as or have at least one of the following:

Texas Affordable Housing Specialist (TAHS)
- Attain the TAHS certification
- Complete Instructor Training Institute
- Letter of recommendation by local association or existing TAHS instructor

Texas Risk Reduction Specialist (TRRS)
- Attain TRRS certification
- Complete Instructor Training Institute
- For Intro to Risk Reduction course, must be eligible to teach Broker Responsibility.
- For elective courses, must hold credentials or show extensive experience in the content areas below in order to propose elective classes in that area:
- Residential
- Commercial
- Property Management
- Farm & Ranch
- Endorsement by the Risk Reduction Committee.

CRD/REBI Designations & Certifications
- Texas REALTORS® requires instructors needing a letter of recommendation for any CRD/REBI course to complete the Instructor Training Institute or provide a local association endorsement.

Professional Standards
- Must have served on the Professional Standards committee within two years prior to application; in addition, must have served a minimum of twice on Grievance Tribunal and a minimum of three times on a hearing panel, one of which must be an arbitration, or served as a mediator for an arbitration request

All instructor candidates must fill out and submit the Texas REALTORS® Instructor Application and remit a $75 fee. Real estate CE elective class instructors and appraiser CE instructors require only the completed application and fee.
